This is what goes on in the heads of smart people: when money talks, and you're the leaders of a country, you make YOUR COUNTRY more attractive to attracting money.


Laos, as we know, doesn't really have the kind of brains necessary to institute such economic tactics and strategies.

Laos probably looks up to Vietnam and China, their "big brother" communist comrades, to see whether or not they'd give Laos the nod, before Laos timid leaders would undertake any action... so we won't hear these decisions.

The fact of the matter is, Laos being only 8M people, and a country still abound with natural beauty... it won't be too hard to make it into a destination for WESTERN and RICH tourists who want to see some of SE Asia's last rain forests...

But, again, such takes brains and an ability to think outside the box, something Laos "correct leadership" is not capable of... although we are sure they'd think they have already put Laos and her people in the best of positions compared to other countries from around the world...

HANOI, Vietnam (AP) -- Vietnam will drop its visa requirements for tourists from five more European countries in a bid to boost its slumping tourism industry.

Under a decision by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung that was posted on the government's website, visitors from Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Spain will no longer need a visa to visit Vietnam starting in July for stays up to 15 days.

The decision was welcomed by tour operators.

"This is very good news," Hoang Le Quyen of PeaceTours said by telephone from the southern commercial hub of Ho Chi Minh City. "It will definitely help bring foreign tourists to Vietnam."

Note: I was not, I am not, saying Vietnam has been exceptionally good at attracting tourists. It's probably just the opposite: that they're not that successful, because they have been using outdate tactics and gimmicks.

When you have a terrible to semi-terrible RULING STRUCTURE, where ruled cowered at the feet of the rulers, OUTSIDERS won't look at you kindly; nor do they, if they are decent humans who enjoy vast amounts of freedom in their own respective societies, want to "reward" you with their money, if they see that your citizens are terrorized arbitrarily, in some strange LOCAL BRAND OF RULE OF LAW.

Indeed, Asians and third world societies have these strange, feudalistic attitudes: they treat their local citizens as peasants; but they bend backward to TRY to honor and to attract foreigners as loyal, international citizens to be treated with great deference.

That double-standard --- of attitude and of treatment --- of treating locals very harshly for ideas, crimes, and things that BOTH local and foreigners all think, all have, all do, and all aspire to on their daily lives... it grates against the intelligence and conscience of many world travelers...

ALL CHINA NEED IS A BAMBOO STICK OR JUST PURE KNUCKLE TO PUNCH VIETNAMESE AS 740 MILLION SOLDIERS MARCH DOWN TO THE SEA SHORE. CHINA COULD JUST HAVE EACH SOLDIER DRINK 1 GALLON OF WATER AND START PEEING ONTO THE VIETNAMESE AS THE 740 MILLION SOLDIERS MARCH DOWN. THE VIETS WILL DIE OF PEE FLOOD WITHOUT USING A SINGLE AK74 NOR A RPG-7 AT THIS TIME ONLY USA CAN HANDLE CHINA BY USING AIR AND SEA FORCES WHICH CHINA IS STILL WEAK IN THOSE 2 AREA. NUKE IS ANOTHER ONE CHINA WILL BE ELIMINATED IN A FEW MINUTES.

VIETNAM NEEDS MORE FROM THE USA THAN THE VIET HAS EVER NEEDED IN THE VIETNAM HISTORY. VIETNAM HAS TO ALLY WITH USA OR FACE THE RED GIANT ALONE IS NATIONAL TERMINATION TIME FOR THE VIET.

YEP THE VIET ALSO HAS 2 GROUPS. THE CURRENT RULING GROUP IS COMMUNIST BUT THE LOOSER GROUP HAD BEEN USA ALLY FOR A LONG TIME. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE REGIME CHANGE ACTIVITIES WILL VISIT VIETNAM SOONER THAN WE KNOW.LPDR WILL FOLLOW RIGHT AFTER THAT TOO. WATCH OUT PLANET EARTH NEVER STAND STILL FOR A SECOND.
