I know that very well. But islamic people are different from other refugees. The muslims tend to loyal to their god, not the country where they live. Just look at what has been happening around the world these days. Moreover, If the population of muslims in the country (any country) is 5% and up, they will ask for Sharia law and more...and violence would ensue...
Laos should not care more on a token amount of assistance money in exchange for accepting those (islamic) refugees but more about the future of the country instead.
For other refugees except the said above people I think Laos, if it could afford, should absorb some but pay more attention to how it would affect the demographics of the country also.
Post by Moobthaibteb MoobtwmzeejJust thought that how ironic it is, not too long ago, only within the past 30 something years ago, people from Cambodia was seeking refuge in Australia and now they are accepting refugees from Australia--with pay. With all the talks of how Laos still need a lot of financial aid from the richer countries, why not try something like what Cambodia is doing now too?
Post by n***@yahoo.comWhat is your point of views about this? You like to let the islamic refugees to settle in your homeland, don't you? I don't think it's a good idea to allow those people to settle in Laos. I see too much problems with islamists around the world these days. Other refugees would be OK, I think!
Post by Moobthaibteb MoobtwmzeejHeard on the radio about a week ago, and was curious why no one has brought it up in here to talk about it yet. For $40 million in aid, if Cambodia can do it, why can't Laos?
