Her Lao

It's always a tragedy and a tearful event to watch these things. Yes, even watching documentaries is a tragedy, since it is so tragic and painful.
America really need to do more to help Laos; and Laos leaders really need to stop practicing this defunct, outdated ideology they do now... so they can ask for help from the American government more seriously.
Imagine what could be done, with 500,000 to 700,000 Lao and Hmong living in the USA... if Laos WERE a pluralistic society in which all its far-flung people are considered part of Laos... with THEM helping to lobby the USA government to help Laos get rid of its bomblets and chemical spray the US did in the 1960s...
But now that the Republicans ---- arch enemies of Communists & Communism ---- are in control of the Congress again, lobbying a GOP run government to give more money to a Communist country like Laos, even for good and moral causes, would be even more challenging....
Vietnam already knows there's NO FUTURE in Communism, with China becoming ever more belligerent; and Vietnam is slowly turning westward.
I can't understand why Laos still flies the Soviet-era, sickle-hammer flag from the early 1900s, when there is absolutely no reason for it to do so.
But, yes, bravo to these AUSSIES for helping out!
